It's only day 7 and i am somehow already writing my sixteenth entry. It's actually my sixth of the day. I just wanted to explain my blog a little bit. For a while i've been trying to think of a screen name or title that doesn't sound emo, isn't something silly that will get old, and hold at least some meaning. Finally, The Silent Number.
You can interpret the title how you like. The Silent Number. a number can be a musical or theatrical piece, a performance, a collection of poetry or songs, something of a series distinguished by numbers, an individual, or simply an identifying number. Silent. A silent piece of music? Silent expression? A silent performance? Trying not to just become a number. Trying to be more than just a number; more than just a record.
This blog is for me to record my feeling, thoughts, and actions from day to day and none of my posts have a title, only a number, and that is all they need. The numbers alone hold no value but to identify the entry. A title is nothing more that that, right? Although i still capitalize names, you'll notice that i don't capitalize "i" unless it's at the beginning of a sentence or i'm quoting somebody else.
I thought about the title of of this blog along the url. The Silent Number and silentnumber.blogspot.com It's important to me that i chose carefully the name. Silent Number, The Silent Number, A Silent Number, or My Silent Number. Regardless of the title, this is mine so "My Silent Number" would be redundant. Although there is not just one single "number," "A Silent Number" and just "Silent Number" doesn't hold together like "The Silent Number." Each one of these entries are a "number", but so is the blog as a whole. "The Silent Number" seems more collective and identifying. It's not too deep, i am well aware, but it isn't meaningless either.
I also recently registered the.silent.number@gmail.com and i am considering using this as a personal email address.
